Fellowship

Fellowship Nite!

On Friday nights, Covenant Word Church has weekly fellowship meetings, and we sit down and share a meal together. These meetings offer opportunities where we can see each other on a more personal level, learn about our brothers and sisters in Christ, encourage one another and become more like family. These actions are described in the Word of God which talks about the Church growing daily.

What is Fellowship?

Fellowship is sharing the lives of each other in love and encouragement. It is being there for each other and being genuinely interested in your brother’s or sister’s life. It is becoming a family just as God has designed.  We start by greeting one another as each one arrives.  At 7:00 we gather to pray over the fellowship, that God’s will be done and we’d each be uplifted and encouraged. We then get our food from the line where our servers bless us by dishing out the food.  After that we move to one of our classrooms where tables are set up to have our actual meal.  After that the children are taken to another classroom for activities better suited to their age and the adults  stay to share and discuss. The Teen Meeting takes place at 8:00 PM.

1 Cor 14:26 (KJV) “How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.”

This is also a great opportunity for us to have access to Pastor in a casual setting to ask questions or gain understanding, or just hear a good story about diving the Vandenberg.  The relaxed atmosphere is a place we can all go to “hang out” with each other, build relationships and fulfill God’s will for us.

Is it Biblical? YES!

Acts 2:42-47 (KJV) “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.  Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
